Talent acquisition is the process of planning, sourcing, assessing, hiring and on-boarding of new or existing employees into appropriate positions within the organisation. The process applies to all types of employment relationships, including full and part-time employees, contractors, contingent staff, or outsourced worker relationships. The focus of the process is on attracting talented workers to the organisation.
In this sub-profession, you will develop abilities in creating a recruitment plan by applying different tools and applications of manpower planning. You will learn to prepare a manpower budget for an organisation and source suitable candidates for recruitment. You will also be trained in various methods of recruitment and selection, as well as in interviewing techniques.
You would then learn advanced processes of recruitment. You will be introduced to HR analytics and tools of CRM used in HR. You will also be familiarised with legal and statutory requirements of recruitment and handling grievances
.Recent business factors, such as increasing competition and the shortage of talented workers, have encouraged organisations to change focus from merely recruiting to acquiring the right talent. As a result, organisations now put greater emphasis on planning staff requirements, attracting a pool of talented candidates, using new techniques for sourcing and screening candidates, greater emphasis on assessing candidate skills and verifying backgrounds, and ensuring an effective on-boarding process.
This shift has resulted in organisations heavily investing in talent acquisition teams and has created a plethora of job opportunities for management graduates in this sector.
